Basic Meanings of Theology and Philosophy
Theology and Philosophy are some of the most important aspects in the life of an all-round average human being.
Theology can simply be described as a study and analysis of how God and the various attributes that He has relate to the universe or simply the study of religion and the influences it cause as well as the nature of its truths. The learned profession in a university, seminary or school of divinity after completion of a specialized course in religious studies is also known as theology.
Philosophy on the other hand is simple the study of all the general as well as fundamental problems using an approach that is systematic and critical and one that relies on rational argument. The problems tackled in philosophy are mostly connected to the mind, knowledge, existence, values and language among others.
The two disciplines when combined can aid in search of truth and meaning because philosophical methods can be used to analyze theological concepts. This is known as philosophical theology.
